Hello
my name is SGT ****, in the communications platoon of the 1/327
Infantry Battalion 101st Air Assault Division out of **** KY. I
want to thank you very much for your care packages that you have
sent my troops and myself. We all appreciate the new socks and the
soaps. The bar soaps is something we don't get very easily out here.
It is easier to get the body wash than that stuff. Candy is always
a plus for troops we all like something sweet every now and then,
kind of like a good pick me up on a dirty, hot day. We all thank
you for taking time to put together these packages and we all want
to let you know that we truly appreciate the support you are giving
us out here. With out people like you back home, soldiers like me
have a hard time doing their job out here. Thank you again for your
support.
I am attaching a picture of some of the guys from my Platoon to
this Email. The guys you see are here in Iraq for either their second
or third rime. They are all relaxing after a hard day of working.
Thank you for everything

I
am the manager of a small rec center at a forward operating base
(FOB) in Afghanistan. I just received a care package from one
of your soldiers today and wanted to take a few minutes to let
you know how much we appreciate your support of the troop. We
are a very same FOB and very close so we share a lot of the goodies
we get from back home. The soldiers/airmen bring in any items
they have extra to share with others. All your items are greatly
appreciated and went to good use. Thanks again for all your support.

Dear
1st Graders at CRS
My
name is ****. I belong to a Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron.
We are the Blue Knight! I work in the avionics section with about
50 other Marines. We are currently deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan.
We are here to help the people of Afghanistan. There are a lot
of kids over here who live in mud houses. They are not as fortunate
as we are. Some of them have never even been to school! Can you
imagine? Anyway, we are going to do our best to help them out!
Jack sent a card in the box and he asked what our life is like
out here. Well Jack, it's not too bad. I sleep in a sleeping bag
on a cot. I share a tent with 23 Marines. We have hot showers
in another tent and we also eat 3 hot meals a day in yet another
tent. Sometimes we can get somewhere to watch T.V. Do you want
to know what I miss the most? I miss watching cartoons on Saturday
morning with my 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. That's
what I look forward to doing when I get back home. I'll try to
send some pictures of my Marines at work! By the way, tell Jake
I really liked his rainbow picture!
We'll guys, I've got to get back to work. Thank you so much for
your care package! You guys should be proud of yourselves for
being so smart and sending us exactly what we needed! Thank you
again and God Bless! Feel free to write to us!

I
would like to extend my personal thanks to all the students at
the Concord Road Elementary School. Thank you for the items that
you have sent. The contents of the package were useful and greatly
appreciated. We evenly distributed the items throughout our company
and posted all of the letters and signatures in our work space
here in Afghanistan so that all the Marines can see the support
we have back home. It is because of great Americans like yourselves
that makes America so great and allows us to do what we do here.
Again,
thank you for your continued support. I hope this letter lets
you know how much your support means to us all.

Dear
2nd Grade,
Hello!
I'm *****! A LCPL (Sorry, Lance Corporal) in the Marine Corps
deployed in Afghanistan right now. This morning I received some
items and got to read the letters that came in a care package
you sent. It was great! I really, really like to chew bubble gum,
so it was right up my alley! I draw a bit also, so getting a chance
to see your awesome artistic ability was even MORE cool! I'm gonna
have to say the drawing of spiderman was pretty good !!
You made it a point to mentions "no thanks being necessary"
(for the care packages) and to that I say, THANKS!!! Not particularly
for the package or the items in it (Though it was so cool!) but
just for keeping us in your thoughts and your prayers. That alone
makes every day an honor to serve all of you!
THANKS
AGAIN!!!

To the children and staff at the Concord Road Elementary School,
I can't thank you enough for the care package. I have a platoon
of Marines in Afghanistan. I have 32 Marines at this time, we
just arrived here a week ago and everything is going well. It's
hot during the day and chilly at night. There are lots of big
mountains here and it is very dry. We live in big tents by the
runway at ********Air Field. It is pretty noisy around here with
all the planes and helicopters. There are a lot of people here
from different countries. It's fun meeting all these different
people, some of there customs are a lot different from ours. Most
of them are very nice people. Feel free to write if you have any
questions and again thank you very much!

right now and the wonderful letters and care packages mean a lot
to us. Again thank you so much and we promise to stay safe.

Mrs.
Rogovic,
Please express my thanks to the 1st Grade Students of Concord
Road elementary School for their care package. It is Easter Sunday
and it came at the perfect time. It was like we had our own Easter
Bunny deliver the package at the right time. I have written out
a letter to your students. I will send that out today and you
will probably see it in 8-10 days. One of the cards sent with
the package asked us to send a picture. As of right now, we are
still in our setting up phase so our resources are still flowing
in. Once I am able, I will send a picture of the Marines from
my division to you via email so the students can see who they
are writing to. Thanks again for all of your support as we do
our part in the War on Terrorism. Your support at home is always
welcome. These young Marines I have the privilege to serve with
and lead are a shining example of the best America has to offer.
As educators, you are a big part of the process that builds these
young men and women up to the strong, prideful Americans they
are. They are asked to live in tents in the high desert and work
long hours in some austere conditions. I am constantly amazed
at the positive attitude in which they conduct themselves on a
daily basis! These young men and women truly are the best America
has to offer and I couldn't be prouder of them. Thank you again
for your support and the support of your students. Please encourage
them to write as, we will write back as much as we can depending
on operational commitments.
Sincerely,
