Code of Conduct

Everyone at Concord Road knows that education is important.

All members of our school family must respect each other and respect school property in order to learn in the best way possible.

We wrote this Code of Conduct to help us live more safely and happily together.  It will help you understand the rights and responsibilities of each of us.

My Rights

My Responsibilities

I have a right to be happy:

  • No one will laugh at me, tease me or hurt my feelings.
  • No one will treat me unfairly because I am black or white, tan or yellow, fat or thin, tall or short, or a boy or girl.

I will not make others unhappy:

  • I will not laugh at others, tease others, or hurt the feelings of others.
  • I will not treat others unfairly because they are black or white, tan or yellow, fat or thin, tall or short, or a boy or girl.

I have the right to be safe at school:

  • No one will hit me, kick me, push me, pinch me, threaten me, or hurt me.
  • No one will bring anything dangerous to school.

I will make the school safe:

  • I will not hit, kick, push, pinch, threaten or hurt anyone.
  • I will not bring anything dangerous to school.
  • I will stay on school grounds unless I receive permission to leave from an adult in charge.

I have the right to hear and be heard:

  • Others will listen to me.
  • I have the right to express my feelings and opinions.
  • No one will yell, scream, shout, interrupt or disturb me while I am talking.

I will help maintain a calm and quiet school:

  • I will not yell, scream, shout, interrupt or disturb others.
  • I will not interrupt or punish others who express their feelings and opinions.
  • I will walk through the hallways quietly.

I have the right to expect that my property is safe at school.   I will not steal or destroy the property of others.

I will follow all the rules at Concord Road:

  • I will wear appropriate clothes to school and special school events.
  • I will use the bathroom properly.
  • I will follow the lunchroom rules.
  • I will obey the rules for Fire and Sheltering Drills.
  • I will follow directions and safety rules when I am a bus passenger.
  • I will use the computer responsibly.
  • I will bring my homework to school.
  • I will bring to school only what I need for the school day.
  • I will do my best to get to school on time.

I understand that the Ardsley School District and Concord Road Elementary School take this Code of Conduct very seriously.  If I do not follow this Code of Conduct, the school may take any of the following actions:

  • Warning
  • Guidance intervention
  • Parent notification
  • Parent conference
  • Administrative referral
  • Payment for damage
  • Suspension
  • Superintendent’s Conference

By working together and following this Code of Conduct, we will build a happier, safer learning community.
