About Ardsley Day Camp

Ardsley Day Camp will once again take place at the Middle School for summer 2009. The school's newest improvements include a playground facility, a repaved blacktop area and a parking lot that is totally separate from where children play.

All the other locations will be available for camp use as in past summers. This includes outdoor athletic fields, an indoor gymnasium, a state-of-the-art library media center, art rooms, a woodworking shop, and an air-conditioned auditorium.

All of the camp’s programs are run under the direction of certified teachers. The campers are divided into groups of 8 to 10 children and are assigned to general counselors. CITs are included to assist with group supervision.

Registration for 2009 is open to residents of the Ardsley School District and to non-residents as well. Registration will proceed on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is encouraged to secure your spot for the summer.

The season runs for six weeks from Tuesday, June 30th, through Friday, August 7th. Please note that camp will be closed on Friday, July 3rd.

The camp day runs from 9 am to 4 pm. All children completing Kindergarten through Grade 8 may participate in the full-day program. Transportation is not provided.

There will be a weekly trip program for campers who have completed grades 5 through 8. All eligible campers must participate in this program, for which there is an additional fee of $300.

Campers have the opportunity to buy lunch at camp. The menu includes deli sandwiches, hot pizza made fresh daily, bagels, frozen yogurt and a variety of beverages and chips. Parents have the option to pre-pay for lunch for the entire season. The fee for this option remains at $168 for 28 lunches. Lunches brought from home will be refrigerated. The camp provides a daily snack. Campers will also need towels, bathing suits and suitable footwear.

The camp calendar includes special events such as Olympic Day, talent shows and performances by outside entertainers.

For the second consecutive year, we will offer a Pre-K program. Only those children who will begin Kindergarten in September 2009 are eligible to attend. This program meets daily from 9 am to 12 noon and includes a lunch period for the children. Drop-off and pick-up is at the Middle School library entrance each day.

Early camp registration, which includes a non-refundable $100 deposit and a completed medical form, is strongly recommended.

Please note that enrollment will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
