The 4th grade adopted the Sitton Spelling Program in 2015.  The Sitton Spelling Program believes:

The philosophy behind Sitton Spelling and Word Skills^™ instruction is to provide opportunities for all students to discover and use spelling strategies. Spelling becomes a goal that every student learns can be accomplished. Students learn they can!

This program looks at spelling patterns and there is a focus on having the children learn to spell the most commonly used words.  The students will use easy words to help them see patterns in more challenging words.  There are parent letters that will go home for homework which require that an adult at home works with the child to help reinforce concepts, and they help foster a bond between home and school.
