Mr. Brysen Van Eck

Hi,

My name is Brysen Van Eck, and I am honored to be teaching Regents Earth Science and AP Environmental Science at Ardsley High School. After 19 years forecasting and presenting the weather for The News12 Networks, I decided to change careers, and in May of 2018 I graduated from Dominican College with a Master of Science in Education. I currently hold a New York State Certification to teach Earth Science and General Science to students in grades 7 through 12.

I completed my undergraduate education at Cornell University and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. In addition, I have received 6 New York Emmy Nominations and 1 New York Press Club Award from my time with The News12 Networks. 

I am married with two children, and in my spare time I enjoy golfing, traveling, and rooting for the Mets, Knicks and Giants.

However, my passion is all things science, and my goal is to pass on that passion to my students by linking what they learn in the classroom to their actual experiences in the "real world".

I look forward to being part of the Ardsley Community for many years to come.
