• Global History 9R is the first year of a two-year course. The focus of this year will be world history and geography from the dawn of human civilization to about 1750 C.E. This course will involve the study of people and events that have shaped or changed the way that people live on this planet. We will examine the cultures of different peoples of Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas, as well as the geographic contexts in which they have emerged. Social Studies is a discipline that involves historical thinking skills of research, sourcing, contextualization, corroboration and close reading, as well as evidence-based writing.
