Groundbreaking Ceremony Kicks Off Capital Improvement Project

Ardsley Breaks Ground on $50M Capital Improvement Project

The Ardsley School District officially kicked off its $50 million capital improvement initiative with a groundbreaking ceremony held on the high school field. The event marks the beginning of the Capital Projects approved by voters during last year’s school budget vote.

Superintendent Matt Block addressed attendees, highlighting upgrades planned across all school buildings. At the high school, the field will see a full overhaul, including new turf, a resurfaced track,and improved spectator stands. Block acknowledged the Board of Education and Ardsley residents for their support, calling the project “an investment in our students.”

News12 and the Rivertowns Enterprise were on hand to cover the ceremony, which featured participation from district leaders, local officials and students. Ardsley Mayor Nancy Kaboolian, Deputy Mayor Steve Edelstein and Board of Education Trustee Mitch Kleinman joined members of the school administration, high school student-athletes and design and construction team for the ceremonial dig.

Construction Manager Kevin Sawyer of Triton Construction provided the excavator and shovels, while architect Joseph Fuller of Fuller D’Angelo P.C. supplied hard hats for participants. Each guest broke ground, signaling the official start of the district’s long-planned improvements.

Work will now begin as the district moves forward with its multi-site upgrade.
