Million Meals Project Results in Nearly 50,000 Healthy Meal Kits
The Ardsley PTSA's Million Meals Project event held this past Saturday at Concord Road School, was a huge success. Over 400 volunteers of all ages rallied to package nearly 50,000 healthy meal kits. The community event fostered a spirit of collaboration to support families in need and a commitment to addressing food insecurity.
This initiative engaged students across the Ardsley School District - from volunteering to raising funds. The Silver Linings Club and the WMAA organized bake sales that boosted fundraising efforts. Additionally, the Red Cross Club provided monetary donations, further enhancing the impact of the event.
The Million Meals Project, a nonprofit organization established in 2022, aims to package and distribute 1,000,000 meals by 2028. To achieve this ambitious goal, it partners with Rise Against Hunger, a global nonprofit dedicated to eradicating hunger, and other local organizations to host monthly meal packaging events. This collaboration ensures that meals prepared during the event will reach communities experiencing food insecurity around the world, making a tangible difference in countless lives.
