Committees
Audit & Finance/Budget Committee ‐ meets regularly with the Assistant Superintendent for Business, Facilities and Operations to review the District’s finances and is actively involved in developing the District’s budget. Serves on the District’s community audit committee. Works with the District’s administrative team to prepare the budget book and community presentations regarding the budget.
Community Relations Committee ‐ attends Village and/or Town government meetings on an “as needed” basis. Manages communications on behalf of the Board with individual community members. Serves as Board point of contact for community groups without a designated Board liaison.
Contracts Committee ‐ meets with the Superintendent regularly to review District contracts (e.g., vendor contracts, employment contracts). Works with the District’s administrative and legal teams throughout the negotiation process.
Curriculum and Instruction/Personnel Committee ‐ meets with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction on a regular basis to review current instructional programs, policies, outcomes, and trends. Reviews hiring practices and procedures.
Long‐Range Planning Committee – meets with the Director of Facilities and Transportation as needed to review housing development trends, facilities conditions, and the status of any proposed or ongoing construction or repairs. Serves on any District committee regarding the development and/or implementation of any capital project.
Policy Committee – meets with the Superintendent on a regular basis to review District policies and regulations. Develops recommendations to the Board for additions, deletions, or amendments to District policies.
Liaisons
Ardsley Education Foundation Liaison – attends AEF meetings as needed or requested and serves as Board point of contact for AEF needs.
Ardsley Panther Booster Club Liaison – attends Booster Club meetings as needed or requested and serves as Board point of contact for Booster Club needs.
BOCES Liaison – attends Southern Westchester BOCES meetings as needed and serves as Board point of contact for BOCES needs.
NYSSBA Liaison – serves as the representative to NYSSBA and serves as Board point of contact for NYSSBA needs.
PPLT Liaison – maintains a dialogue with PPLT leadership, attends PPLT meetings as needed or requested, and serves as Board point of contact for PPLT needs.
PTSA Liaison – maintains a dialogue with PTSA leadership, attends PTSA meetings as needed or requested, and serves as Board point of contact for PTSA needs.
Special Education Liaison – meets with the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services and Special Education regularly to keep apprised of the District’s programs, enrollment, and out-of-district placements. Attends SEPTA meetings as needed or requested and serves as Board point of contact for SEPTA needs.
WPSBA/Legislative Contact – serves as Board point of contact for the Westchester Putnam School Boards Association and the District’s elected representatives at the state and federal levels.
