Welcome to 5th and 6th Grade Science

I am thrilled to be teaching science at Ardsley Middle School this year! This will be my 12th year, with my previous experience in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. I cannot wait to share my passion for science education with the community!

Fifth Grade

This course is a foundations class designed to provide students with a basic knowledge of fundamental concepts in life, earth, and physical science. Emphasis is placed on learning through inquiry through the use of scientific investigations and the engineering design process. Topics in this course include the scientific process, the metric system, matter and energy, nutrition, ecology, astronomy, and weather.

Sixth Grade

In this course, students will explore topics in life science. Students think like scientists to construct meaning about the living world around them. Topics on this course include plants, cells, kingdoms of life, genetics, and the human body. 

Class Supplies: one 2-pocket folder (blue), personal supply of pencils
