Mrs. Michelle McStine, Reading Teacher
Learning to read and write is one of many important life achievements.
Literacy development enhances learning in all subject areas and fosters a love of reading.
At Concord Road, Literacy teachers embrace best practices with access to the tools and resources needed for high quality instruction and support.
The shared vision of our educators specializing in reading is to ensure that every student reaches their highest potential.
As one of the reading specialists at Concord Road, my purpose is to design targeted interventions to help all students reach their potential as readers and writers. Lessons may involve phonological awareness, word study, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, spelling and fluency. I am fascinated by the art and science of reading: from neurological studies discovering how our amazing brains learn to read, to the intriguing history behind English spelling.
