• Art is a place for students to be creative through experiences.   In class, students will learn about the world of art, self-expression, imagination, skills, techniques and processes.  They will become problem solvers, learning that art can have more than one solution and that questions have more than one answer.

Class will focus on developing skills, which include drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics and computers.  Students will have the opportunity to experiment and refine skills using a variety of art media, using the elements and principles of design.  These will be emphasized in each art experience.

Art is not just beautiful; it takes thought and effort in order to be successful.  It celebrates multiple perspectives, and teaches us that there are many ways to see and interpret the world.  The arts enable us to imagine the unimaginable, and to connect us to the past, the present, and the future.
