Originally hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, I survived two Polar Vortexes (and a few milder Midwest winters) at The University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I earned two degrees: a regular Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film and a Journalism Bachelor of Arts with a focus on strategic communication (advertising and public relations) through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I attended graduate school in the Bay Area and I hold teaching credentials in both California and New York. I have experience teaching and tutoring in Kindergarten through 5th grade across all subjects in both public and private schools in the Bay Area and New York City. Most recently, I was a 1st grade head teacher at a private school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. 1st grade is my favorite grade to teach - so much growth happens and it is truly incredible to see children experience so many "light-bulb moments."
In my spare time, you can find me quoting Kristin Wiig, singing broadway show tunes, or playing with my two little dogs, Nori Krinkle and Schooner.
I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes that I think nicely sums up a piece of who I am:
"Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning." - Robert John Meehan
