The AMS History Club recently visited the Tarrytown Historical Society, where they had an incredible opportunity to handle artifacts from the Founding Era. During the visit, students learned about Major John Andre's capture in Tarrytown, which played a vital role in saving Americans from a possible defeat in the Revolution. Additionally, the exhibits shed light on Tarrytown's rich history, including a letter written by Alexander Hamilton to Aaron Burr, as well as signatures of eight past U.S. Presidents. The Club also walked to the monument commemorating the capture of Major Andre. It was a truly special experience, and the AMS History Club expressed gratitude to the Tarrytown Historical Society for being such wonderful hosts.
